Q Acoustics unleashes 3000c speaker range
Innovations to the series include a new ground-up C 3 (pronounced ‘C-cubed’) Continuous Curved Cone mid/bass profile designed with a view to ensuring superior bass dynamics and smoother integration with the high-frequency driver unit, which is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle, preventing modulation from the mid/bass driver. The low-colouration cabinets with Point to Point (P2P) bracing have been built to minimise low-end reverberation to improve the stereo image and soundstage. In the 3050c there are HPETM (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser) tubes to disrupt the build-up of standing waves, smoothing the frequency response and reducing distortion.
All cabinets come in a choice of Pin Oak, Claro Walnut, Satin White or Satin Black finishes with satin metallic driver trims – nickel for all, chrome for white.
The 3000c series evolves the 3000i’s signature look to be what the company is calling: “more visually minimal” with no discerning joints or bolts. The 3050c floorstander boasts a solid aluminium stabiliser design featuring top adjustable spikes for easier levelling. The whole range also includes a terminal panel that has been trickled down from 5000 series, with low-profile speaker binding posts for easy placement near to a wall.
Pricing is as follows: 3010c bookshelf £330; 3020c standmount £400; 3030c larger standmount £500; 3050c floorstander £900; and 3090c centre channel £300.
