Elipson rolls out W35+ multi-room stereo speaker

French company Elipson has launched the W35+, an updated version of its W35 connected, multi-room stereo speaker. With improved sound quality and connectivity now integrated into the spherical design, the W35+ boasts a redesign of the integration of the silk-dome tweeters – which the company claims makes improvements in sound quality: “The 2x 165mm mid/bass drive units perform in partnership with these reworked tweeter housings to give better treble and greatly improved harmonics. Maintaining the original design of woofer and tweeter on each side of the speaker gives a truly stereophonic configuration from a single unit.”

Amplification remains Elipson’s Class D that provides up to 350W RMS, while new to the W35+ and built into the housing, is an RJ45 socket for connected streaming along with optical and 3.5mm mini-jack AUX inputs.

Wireless connectivity comes via aptX HD Bluetooth for playing hi-res music files (up to 24-bit) and wi-fi (hi-res in Solo mode or CD quality in multi-room mode).

Operation is via the Elipson Connect App, which makes the W35+ compatible with other Elipson Connected products such as the Music Centre Connect HD (HFC 482), Connect Wi-Fi receiver and Connect streaming amp, all of which can be located in other rooms to create a multi-room system.

A 350mm sphere and weighing in at 7.6kg, the W35+ comes in Matt Dark Grey and a specially designed tripod stand is available in either Silver Oak or Walnut at an additional £149.

Available to buy now for £900, you can find out more about the W35+ here.
