Pro-Ject introduces T2 and T2 Super Phono turntables

Austrian company Pro-Ject has announced the release of its T2 and T2 Super Phono turntables to add to the T2 Wireless Streaming Turntable it launched last year.

The T2 strips the T2 Wireless of all its additional electronics and reverts the design to a pure, analogue record player that needs to be connected to the user’s phono stage of choice, while the T2 Super Phono adds a built-in switchable phono stage. Other features of the T2 and T2 Super Phono include enhanced T-Line turntable design with heavy glass platter and sturdy wood plinth, an improved 9in aluminium tonearm with spring-loaded anti-skate dial, pre-adjusted Sumiko Rainier moving-magnet cartridge, automatic switching between 33 and 45rpm, vibration-absorbing feet and a semi-symmetrical interconnect cable. Both models are handmade and come in black, white or walnut finishes.

Pro-Ject says the T2 features: “high-quality output terminals and the T2 Super Phono boasts a built-in dual stage, split-passive moving magnet phono preamplifier. Compared with the T2 W, the T2 Super Phono’s phono stage uses the extra PCB board space to optimise and enhance the electrical layout for a superior analogue performance. The phono stage can also be bypassed if you wish to install an MC cartridge or make use of an external preamp as you progress on your analogue journey.”

The T2 is supplied with a removable dust cover, felt mat and Pro-Ject’s premium Connect it E Phono RCA cable. They measure 457 x 134 x 335mm (WxHxD), weigh 5.5kg and are priced at £480 for the T2 and £560 for the T2 Super Phono.

Available to buy now, you can find out more about the Pro-Ject T2 and T2 Super Phono turntables here.
