February 2026 issue now on sale

Before we pile headlong into 2026 it seems apt to take a brief pause to remind us all what HFC sets out to achieve – our mission statement if you like. Bearing in mind that the cost of living isn’t getting any cheaper, our principal goal is to track down and assess all the very best hi-fi coming fresh to the market with the emphasis on ‘affordable’.
With this in mind, our monthly reviews will continue to concentrate on products mostly priced south of £10k with plaudits given to those companies who manage to innovate without passing too much of the financial burden onto you, the customer.
Our Exotica tests will continue to draw from our partner publication, Hi-Fi News, for an in-depth examination of more high-end, in-your-dreams kit while our Audio File pages will bring you up-to-date with all the new releases irrespective of price. Those which suit our cost criteria are then likely to be put to the test and reviewed post haste in a following issue.
As ever, we heartily welcome any recommendations you have to make regarding recent hi-fi purchases and we’ll be happy to publish your thoughts alongside your questions in our Letters pages. In other words, it’s business as usual. As the saying goes: if it ain’t broke, why fix it? Feel free to upgrade, though.
Have fun!
