Harman Kardon celebrates 70th anniversary with Aura Studio 4, Go + Play 3 and Luna Bluetooth speakers

Harman Kardon is celebrating 70 years in the business by launching three new Bluetooth speakers: the Aura Studio 4, Go + Play 3 and the Luna.

The Aura Studio 4 (pictured above) features a 133mm down-firing subwoofer and wide soundstage with a six speaker array and will pair with any two mobile devices.

Continuing the company’s legacy of transparent speakers, the Aura Studio 4 boasts 324 individual crystals housed at the base of the dome in a parametric design allowing the ambient light to: “dance to the rhythms of beautiful Harman Kardon sound”.

Harman goes on to explain: “A palette of carefully constructed animated light themes blends the smartest technology with a modern and unique design. Whether it’s Polar Light (inspiring imagination and fantasy), Universe (discovering the infinite space), Rain Drops (calming the mood), Cloud (relaxing) or Fire (enchanting), the Aura Studio 4 transforms and inspires listeners beyond the realms of the home.”

It’s the first model in the Aura range to be made in part with recycled material; the speaker grille fabric is woven from 100 percent recycled polyester yarn, all aluminium is 100 percent recycled and the speaker housing is crafted from 85 percent post-consumer recycled plastic. The price for such impressive eco-friendliness is £300.

The Go + Play 3 portable Bluetooth speaker boasts three-way stereo drivers, including two 20mm tweeters and a pair of 90mm exposed down-firing subwoofers. It’s rated at 4x 25W, claims up to 8 hours of battery life and the company says it automatically tunes itself to any new surroundings it may visit.

The design maintains the signature Harman Kardon Go + Play semi-circular silhouette, but the new version features a refined and uplifted body, cased in: “luxurious textiles and high-quality materials throughout”. There’s a tempered glass top with touch controls and an anodised aluminium handle for portability throughout the home, and it uses similar recycled materials to the Aura Studio 4.

Other features include a USB charging port, dual far-field mics and users can wirelessly pair two speakers together for a bigger stereo sound in larger spaces. The price is £300.

Finally, Luna comes in a soft-touch fabric housing an anodised aluminium top panel and boasting an advanced two-way speaker system.

Claiming up to 12 hours of built-in battery life, it comes with an IP67 dust and waterproof rating, while the speaker grille fabric is woven from 100 percent recycled polyester yarn, 85 percent post-consumer recycled plastic is used in the frame and the top panel is made from 50 percent recycled aluminium. Available in a choice of grey or black finishes, it costs £150.
