November 2025 issue now on sale

If there’s one thing sure to brighten our day, it’s a cheeky press release. In response to the song and dance that Spotify has made about finally adding a lossless streaming tier, Qobuz, the French-based streaming platform, has responded with a rather splendid: “welcome to the ‘better sound’ streaming club” in a statement that points out that it has, in fact, been offering the same service since 2007, introducing it to America six years ago.
Which provides us with ample opportunity to announce the new HFC Qobuz Playlist, a monthly collaboration which will introduce you to a selection of hi-res tracks relating to new releases, anniversaries and songs picked to honour those who have passed away over the past few weeks.
You’ll find the inaugural Playlist –which features Black Sabbath, Lana Del Rey, Chappell Roan, Terry Reid and Buckingham Nicks among others – on p100, and if you pop over to hifichoice.com, you can access the music to listen along to as you read.
There will also be regular competitions and Qobuz offers for free sample subscriptions, so what’s not to like? We should also mention that a similar Qobuz Playlist appears in our sister publication Hi-Fi News, with comps and subs offers on its website.
Happy earful!
