Welcome to the October 2025 issue!
You’ll doubtless have noticed that the Audio File section at the front of the mag has expanded somewhat recently in an attempt to alert you to all the latest updates on the abundance of goodies released every month into the hi-fi-hungry market.

We’re aware this can all be a bit giddy-making at times so I’d just like to draw your attention to a couple of less well-heralded features that appear every month as a kind of counterbalance to the new kit tsunami.

Starting on p104 you’ll find our Buying Guide, which catalogues the best products we’ve enjoyed reviewing over the previous six months or so. Regularly refreshed, it serves to navigate through recommended stock already on sale to help you make an informed choice when faced with your next purchase, be it a CD player, amp, cable, loudspeaker, DAC, turntable, headphone, cartridge or anything else kit-wise you might reasonably desire. Priced, dated and rated, it should stand you in good stead.

The other section worth a visit if you’re looking for a bargain is our Reader Classifieds (p118), choc-full of pre-loved gear. Not only could it save you cash on your next purchase, but if you’re looking to offload in order to upgrade or downsize, it’s free to advertise.
