Rotel unveils A12MKII amp and CD14MKII and RCD-1572MKII CD players

Japanese specialist Rotel is upping its output to celebrate its 60th anniversary with the arrival of the A12MKII (pictured) integrated and CD14MKII and RCD-1572MKII CD players, following the recent launch of the A14MKII (HFC 480), RA-1572MKII and RA-1592MKII amps and RC-1572MKII and RC-1590MKII preamps.

The company explains that: “the new models benefit from innovations and improvements to the circuit designs and enhancement to critical audio components, resulting in exceptional performance, improved accuracy and greater acoustic detail. The soundstage of the new models delivers wider and more genuine presentation of the music with increased depth and natural expression.”

All models feature a new Texas Instruments 32-bit DAC, power supply refinements, precision acoustic coupling capacitors and circuit board layout isolation intended to lower the noise floor and reduce distortion.

The A12MKII costs £950 and includes a new DAC, digital processor and digital interface chipset with 12 complimentary changes to the power amplifier. The MKII CD players boast upgraded CD drive mechanisms, new CD controller chipsets, an improved DAC and tuned critical acoustic components. The CD14MKII (£650) and RCD-1572MKII (£1,000) have RCA and coaxial digital outputs, allowing them to be utilised as a CD transport supporting off-board digital-to-analogue processing. Meanwhile, the RCD-1572MKII also includes a fully-balanced, fully-differential XLR output claimed to reject any external noise and lower RF interference.

The A12MKII, CD14MKII and RCD-1572MKII are available in either silver or black finishes.
