System Audio introduces Silverback 1 wireless system

Launched at the recent UK Hi-Fi Show Live! 2023, Danish company System Audio’s Silverback 1 wireless loudspeaker system offers audio up to a claimed 24-bit/192kHz resolution from any source, including network players, PCs, CD players, games consoles, turntables and TVs.

Designed for either on-wall or bookshelf operation, each two-way Silverback 1 active speaker marries a specially designed 140mm mid/bass driver and waveguided 25mm soft dome tweeter with twin 80W power amplifiers within a white or black satin cabinet (including built-in wall bracket), measuring 310 x 325 x 135mm (WxHxD).

The Silverback 1 will work wirelessly with any WiSA-enabled device, but is intended to partner with System Audio’s super compact Stereo Hub, which boasts features including Roon Ready, Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, DLNA UpNP and Spotify Connect built in. Connectivity includes three optical, one coaxial and RCA line-level inputs, plus HDMI and USB Audio.

Speaker setup and room correction are available via System Audio’s ‘SA Cockpit’ app for both Android and iOS devices on Google Play or the App Store. The Silverback 1 is priced at £1,800 per pair, while the Stereo Hub and RC will set you back £400.
