Astell&Kern introduces PA10 Class-A AMP

South Korean company Astell&Kern has launched its debut portable PA10 Class-A AMP. It’s enhanced by the company’s own Teraton Alpha sonic technology, which A&K claims: “is designed to produce audio playback that is as close as possible to the original recording through effective power noise removal combined with efficient power management and unwavering amplification”.

The company goes on to say that the AK PA10 integrates an analogue Class-A amp, reduces power consumption and increases output while removing noise and has two gain levels to deliver “crystal clear” sound.

Despite its small size, the headphone amp supports 4.4mm True Balanced input/output while its crossfeed function is implemented exclusively by hardware circuit design, rather than digital software. Featuring Astell&Kern’s signature industrial exterior design, it comes in graphite grey, weighs 325g, boasts a playback time of about 12 hours from around three hours charge time, measures 73 x 140 x 23.3mm (WxHxD) so it fits in the hand and has been built from strong aluminium to create an octagonal pillar-shaped body.

The Astell&Kern PA10 Class-A AMP is available to buy now for £550 and you can find out more about it here.
