May 2026 issue now on sale

One of the ways I like to gauge a company’s ambition and creativity is by tolling up how many times it appears in our Audio File pages over the year.
Audio File, as regular readers will know, is where we document all the forthcoming new hi-fi releases, which are also flagged up on our front covers under the heading News Extra. So, it can act as a useful barometer of where the action is and who’s most avidly engaged in supplying it.
With that in mind, it’s strikingly apparent that Pro-Ject isn’t sitting around twiddling its thumbs. The company appears to be remarkably prolific, defiantly bucking the business trend which, in tough financial climates, understandably tends to encourage caution and conservatism. It has featured in every Audio File and News Extra for the past six months and on p68-70 in Company Confidential you can delve into the pioneering philosophy behind its Debut turntables.
Elsewhere, on our Opinion pages (p81), you’ll find an impassioned defence of the virtues of Record Store Day plus Destination takes a trip to East Linton in Scotland (p120) to discover A Love Supreme, one of the independent record shops we love to champion. Plenty to keep you informed and entertained.
Enjoy the issue!
